Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions Connecticut families ask most about buying, reserving, pricing, health, delivery, breeds, and avoiding kitten scams.

Buying and Reserving

How do I reserve a kitten?

Tell us the style you love through our inquiry form, we match you with an available kitten and share photos, videos, and health records, then you reserve after a short family screening conversation. Your kitten is then personally delivered.

Can I see the kitten before I reserve?

Yes. We share photos and videos, and we can arrange a video call so you can see the kitten and its environment. A responsible cattery welcomes this, because we are proud of how our kittens are raised.

Do you screen families before placement?

Yes. We have a short family screening conversation before reservation to make sure each kitten goes to the right home. This protects both the kitten and your family.

Price

How much do your kittens cost?

Our kittens typically start around $2,000. Pricing reflects health screening, veterinary health certification, vaccination records, and personally accompanied delivery rather than the kitten alone.

Is delivery included in the price?

Personally accompanied delivery, where a team member travels with your kitten, is part of a responsible placement. Ask us about delivery when you inquire.

Why are screened kittens priced higher than some listings?

Screened kittens cost more because the cattery invests in HCM and PKD screening, veterinary care, and socialization. Listings far below typical pricing are often a sign of a scam.

Health

Are your kittens health screened?

Yes. We HCM screen our British Shorthair and Ragdoll lines and work with PKD-clear lines. Every kitten comes with full veterinary health certification and vaccination records.

What is HCM screening?

HCM screening uses a cardiac ultrasound to check breeding cats for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a heart condition that can affect breeds like British Shorthair and Ragdoll. It helps reduce the chance of passing it on.

Do you guarantee a healthy kitten?

No screening can guarantee a kitten will never develop a condition, so we do not make health guarantees. We do provide full health screening, veterinary certification, and vaccination records, and we encourage ongoing veterinary care.

Delivery to Connecticut

Do you deliver to Connecticut?

Yes. We serve Connecticut families with personally accompanied delivery from our Maryland cattery, including Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk, Westport, New Haven, and Hartford, and we deliver to all 50 states.

How does delivery work?

A team member travels with your kitten door to door. Your kitten never travels alone in cargo, and it arrives settled and cared for throughout the journey.

Where is your cattery located?

Our cattery is based in North Bethesda, Maryland, in the Washington DC metropolitan area. We personally deliver kittens to Connecticut and all 50 states rather than asking families to travel.

Breed and Care

Which breeds do you offer?

We offer six core breeds: British Shorthair, Scottish Fold, Ragdoll, Maine Coon, British Longhair, and Scottish Straight. See our Kitten Styles page for the colors and patterns we place.

Which breed is best for families with children?

Several of our breeds do well with children, including the calm British Shorthair, the sociable Maine Coon, and the gentle Ragdoll. Read our breed guides to compare temperaments.

What should I feed my new kitten?

Ask what food your kitten is currently eating and transition gradually rather than switching suddenly. Our Recommended Products page lists foods we consider useful for new kitten families.

Avoiding Kitten Scams

How can I avoid a kitten scam?

Ask for a live video call, request health screening records, and never send a deposit to a listing that pressures you to pay immediately. Prices far below typical screening costs are a common warning sign.

Is cheap kitten shipping a scam?

Often, yes. Scammers promise cheap shipping then add fake fees for crates, insurance, or permits. Personally accompanied delivery, where a team member travels with the kitten, is the responsible standard.

How do scammers ask for payment?

Scammers often ask for gift cards, wire transfers, or payment apps that offer no buyer protection, and they pressure you to pay immediately. A real cattery uses a clear, documented process.
